William Llovel has co-authored a new paper in the Spring 2017 issue of US CLIVAR’s ‘Variations’ newsletter. The paperĀ (‘Remote sensing of bottom pressure from GRACE satellites’) reviews how, with the recentĀ development of advanced processing methods, GRACE data can increasingly be used to infer bottom pressureĀ anomalies and pressure gradients associated with deep ocean currents.
US Climate Variability and Predictability (CLIVAR) is an American national research program with a mission to foster understanding and prediction of climate variability and change on intraseasonal-to-centennial timescales, through observations and modelling with emphasis on the role of the ocean and its interaction with other elements of the Earth system.
