We are delighted to welcome Aoibheann Brady to the GlobalMass team, to lead on the development of the statistical framework that is central to the project aims.
Aoibheann joins us from the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Bath where she has just submitted her PhD thesis. Her PhD (‘Attribution of Large-Scale Drivers for Environmental Change’) involved applying Bayesian hierarchical models to detect and attribute changes in flooding and other environmental variables. Some of this work – attribution of long-term changes in peak river flows in Great Britain – has recently been published in Hydrological Sciences Journal.
Aoibheann has also been a Statistical Consultant for the ESPN Luck Index project, which developed a statistical approach for modelling the luck factor in English Premier League football.
