Last month Jonathan Bamber represented GlobalMass at the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting 2018, held in Washington, D.C. Our recent work was presented in two posters.
The first poster presented our work developing the BHM approach with a monthly timestep, led by Stephen Chuter, to investigate Greenland ice mass trends. It provides an outline of the methodology and datasets used, as well as some preliminary results for the Jakobshaven Isbræ basin.
The second poster provided an overview of a structured expert judgement (SEJ) exercise, in which Jonathan Bamber has been heavily involved, that explores the current uncertainties in ice sheet contributions to sea level rise. SEJ represents an alternative approach to numerical modelling, providing a formal approach for estimating uncertain quantities based on current scientific understanding.
