Last week, Zhe Sha presented a poster about the GlobalMass project at the 3rd UCL Workshop on the Theory of Big Data in London.
Zhe’s poster described some of the challenges associated with spatio-temporal modelling of global sea level change, and presented an example of an early global solution for glacial isostatic adjustment (GIA).

The workshop gathered experts who develop theory and methodology for big datasets, but also to develop a theoretical understanding of the analysis techniques that are optimal or preferable in different sampling scenarios. The workshop gave participants the opportunity to discuss issues associated with Big Data analysis, emphasising those challenges and opportunities that are not usually found in traditional data analysis problems.
