GlobalMass was a 6-year ERC-funded project which aimed to – for the first time at a global scale – rigorously combine satellite and in-situ data related to different aspects of the sea level budget, so that observed sea level rise can be attributed to its component parts.

After funding for GlobalMass came to an end, a follow-on ‘proof of concept’ project – 4Dmodeller – continued investigating the global sea level budget, as well as developing a software tool to allow Bayesian statistical inference to be applied more widely to 4D problems. You can find out more at the 4Dmodeller microsite.
